There are thress islands with many dive sites at 30 minutes off Padang Bai : Gili Tepekong, Gili Mimpang and Gili Biaha.

These islands are full of corals, fish, sharks and turtles. But beware, due to the strong currents of these sites, we recommend a good level of diving (Advanced Open Water, level 2).

Pour plonger sur les Gilis d'Amuk Bay, nous prenons la route de Padang Bai en longeant la côte ouest. Arrivés au port, nous prenons place dans notre restaurant partenaire avant de prendre le bateau. Nous ferons 2 ou 3 plongées sur les sites  avec encas puis déjeuner soit au restaurant  après les 2 plongées soit en pique nique sur le bateau si  nous partons pour 3 plongées

GILI TEPEKONG

This is the most famous site and the biggest of the Gilis, located 30 minutes from Padang Bai by boat. Depending on the conditions, you can dive on different sites around Tepekong.

The first dive site is near a canyon with a striking structure. This canyon attracts pelagics such as sunfish, sharks, humphead wrasse and parrot fish due to the strong current.

The second dive site is near mushroom coral that are protected and quieter than the canyon. Juvenile white tip sharks, reef fish or nudibranchs often hide there. Because of its distance from the coast, this dive site can always book good surprises in the blue. Do not forget to look out...

 

gili mimpang

Good level

20 to 26°C

It is a group of three rocks where the most southerly rock would have undergone military tests by the Indonesian army from 1961 to 1962, hence its broken structure.
 
You will see hard and soft corals, small reef fish, white tip sharks and other wonders of Balinese underwater life. Due to the strong current of this site, it is not uncommon to cross schools of tuna or trevallies off the shore.

Good level

20 to 26°C

It is the furthest site in Padang Bai that is well known for its shark caves. If conditions permit, you can go there and approach the white tip sharks that rest during the day, emotions guaranteed!
